3. We re-canvas the crime scene

a. We do this to find new evidence and new witnesses beneficial to the defense

b. We take our own photos and measurements of the crime scene

It is extremely important to go back to a crime scene (if possible) and look it over. Taking photos and measurements help the defense attorney to get a better understanding of the case. It is imperative that the attorney has all of the information available to him or her. Without it crucial evidence can be missed and hurt the client in the long run.

In cases where measurements and lines of sight are important to the defense, we go back out a create a photo log. This, again, helps the attorney visualize what happened and what was seen.
